Unmount the fretboard of a stratocaster?

Unless you have done this before and know how to reset the intonation, I would not suggest taking off the NECK. The fretboard you talk about it is part of the neck. The 4 screws are all you need to remove, there is no glue. Take care to line up the screw holes when you reattach the neck so you don't strip out the holes. Now you can restring the guitar an set the intonation. Better idea, get a flight case and don't worry about the baggage handlers.
