The book Catcher in the Rye..please help!!!?

"Catcher in the Rye" is about adolescence and the fear of change within the paradox of constant change for a growing, developing teenage mind. Holden Caulfield wants to "hold on" to his innocence. He wants no change that which would tarnish his innocent world, and challenge his need to keep things without blemish. That is why he can not engage the services of the young prostitute in the green dress, or why he hates movies; because they distort the reality of the fiction on which they are based; or why he feels the need to erase dirty words written on the subway walls. Holden sees himself as the "Catcher in the Rye" who catches the running children (ideal innocence) before they run off the cliff into the sordid depths of adult reality. This is one of the richest works of modern fiction that we read in school. I hope this helps.
