I like rock music .over the last five years i have started to like opera.is it normal tochange in your 40s?

i used to think women opera singers jarred on my hearing.but it is now ok.I dont think i could watch a full opera .but rock and opera are vital to my music listening .Listen to finnish group nightwish who are in both camps.
