Due to mans constance interfering with nature the flow patterns of the Murry River have caused havoc on the normal cycles of native fish and billabongs. As the result of the construction of the Hume Dam, river flow has changed. Once low flow in summer and autumn and flood -peak in late spring, it has reversed, eliminating irrigation demands and causing lands to dry out. Ecology in this area took another loss.
