My lecturer said that women have made their lives allot harder?

M y lecturer seems to think that women have made their lives more hectic by "trying" to be equal to men. She says woman r expected to take care of the home and kids and now they are expected to work now to and be successful and have no time for family life. she more or less says women have shot themsleves in the foot. do u argree with this outragous statement?
