Do you think I was cheated on price of braces?

Ok I have a few gaps here and there in my teeth nothing too noticeable but then I have a big gap in between my two front teeth. I also have a small overbite. Im 16 BTW. So anyway I went to an ortho for a consultation and I got a quote today for $5125 and I have wear the braces for 28 months minimum! I think I was cheated because my big brother just got braces by place near his university and his teeth are horrible he had a huge under bite like 100 teeth crammed in his mouth and a gap, however my teeth are REALLY straight they just have gaps. He paid $3175 and he has to wear his braces for 42 months. The place I went to today was like super elite and it was like right next to a country club so do you think that might have an effect on the ridiculous price also they said i had to pay another 1500 for a permanent retainer on my two front teeth. Im gonna get the braces regardless but do you think I should keep looking??? THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!
