Multibooting my laptop, Simple question . Help please :d)?

I just got a laptop yesterday(yes my first one :d). the asus vt). and it comes with a 320 gb data hard drive, that i cant write on for some reason. However that's not my problem. Im gonna repartion my whole drive so i can multipboot. however i have a on for quick start, which uses that hard drive as my "Express Gate" which is a nice feature and is like a quick operating system. How would i reformate this though for my multiboot, and still keep the express gate, but on a smaller partition, becuase it using 150gb? how would i back this up? It didnt come with a recovery disk ;d(
