I need help with my tattoo!!??!?!?

I just got a tattoo on my back and I went to a legit tattoo shop. They told me to use a very thin layer of neosporin the first few days, although many people say not to use neosporin. My tattoo is black with no color so will it be fine? They wouldn't tell me to use neosporin if it was bad for my tattoo right? I have been applying the thin layer of neosporin but at night when i woke up the imprint of my tattoo was on my sheets in black. Does this mean that it is wearing off?>???
